About Us
Windy Ridge Care is an organization that provides individualized and supportive services to a diverse population throughout central Wisconsin.
We are certified to provide residential services to individuals with developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, alcohol and drug dependency, physically disabled, emotionally disturbed/mental illnesses, correctional clients, advanced age, and individuals who are terminally ill. We strongly believe that every individual will thrive if given the right tools.
A home is an essential part of the quality of life for every one of us. Here at Windy Ridge Care, we provide a home, not a home-like environment for our residents to satisfy their basic needs of comfort, security, and a sense of belonging.
At Windy ridge Care, an important outcome of the services we provide is the development of functional skills that will increase an individual’s independence and quality of life. We provide encouragement, assistance, and support to enhance the quality of life for the individuals we serve.
Services
Windy Ridge Care homes offer staff on premises 24/7. We provide residential services to individuals with various needs. We offer different levels of assistance and support based on the individuals support needs identified in their individual service plans that we create based on input from the individual, family members/guardians, and care managers.

- Preparation/Clean up
- Monitoring for choking needs
- Meeting special dietary needs
- Bathing
- Full assist or standby as needed
- Toileting
- Full assist or standby as needed
- Incontinence Care
- Including assistance with ordering supplies
- Oral Care
- Daily oral care
- Dental appointments
- Grooming
- Nail Care
- Shaving
- Dressing
- Full assist or partial as needed
- Medication Management
- Staff provide medications
- RN delegated skills such as injections as needed
Developmental Disabilities
Our staff are skilled at supporting varied mental age and mental disorders, such as down syndrome, fragile x syndrome, cerebral palsy, and intellectual disabilities. Many of the individuals we serve with any of these disabilities require some level of support in order to live a fully enhanced and better-quality life. At Windy Ridge Care, we focus on our individuals’ choices, rights, and dignity when developing an individualized service plan to best fit the needs of the individual. It is our belief that helping a person with developmental disabilities acquire their full potential improves their quality of life. The services we provide to improve quality of life for those with a developmental disability include but are not limited to community involvement, medication management, grocery shopping, money management, and assistance with cooking and cleaning.
Emotionally Disturbed/Mental Illness
Windy Ridge Care discerns that Mental Health is an essential part of having a good quality of life. Our skilled staff are extensively trained in managing challenging behaviors associated with mental health. We provide supervision for self-harm, facilitation of coping strategies, implementation of a behavior support plan based on the needs of the individual, creation and implementation of crisis plans, and risk assessments. It is our belief that providing strategies to help individuals cope with their mental illnesses will improve their quality of life.
Traumatic Brain Injuries
It is our commitment to understand the specific type of injury an individual has experienced. The aftermath of an individual with a traumatic brain injury can be life-changing for both the individual as well as their family. We strive to assist with managing a productive life, as independently as possible. It is our mission to recognize the needs, desires, and goals of each individual by creating an individualized service plan by working together with the individual, residential staff, care manager, and the family and/or guardian. An individualized service plan is customized to help our staff become knowledgeable of the symptoms or behaviors associated with the persons traumatic brain injury, to be aware of medication management prescribed to alleviate symptoms, and to be knowledgeable of strategies prepared to manage any challenging behaviors related to the specific needs of the individual.
Terminally Ill
Windy Ridge Care provides care for persons who are terminally ill. Our staff work with the individual’s team of healthcare professionals who optimize in providing comfort for an individual with a terminal illness by reducing and controlling pain and addressing physical, spiritual, and psychological needs. Our goal is to work with the individual and the family to support the greatest quality of life possible for whatever time remains.
Advanced Age/Dementia/Alzheimer’s
Alzheimer’s and Dementia can be very challenging for both the individual as well as their families. We strive to create an environment for your loved one where they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Windy Ridge Care provides a home to these individuals with other housemates to promote socialization and interaction with their other housemates. Our staff receive extensive training about memory loss, dementia, and Alzheimer’s to ensure a great quality of life is reached for each individual. We provide support based on the individuals needs and wants as identified in their individualized service plans, as each person with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia progresses differently.
Alcohol and Drug Dependency
Windy Ridge Care provides care to persons with alcohol and drug dependency by providing a sober home. Our mission is to understand the impact of alcohol abuse or addiction on an individual resident, their health, relationships, and mood. We provide additional supports by taking individuals to AA meetings, therapy, and consistent boundaries.
